Car selection
The most important thing is to determine your expectations, so first you should study the offers of cars available in the USA to choose the most interesting ones. During the first contact, you indicate the make, model, engine version, required equipment, year of manufacture, etc. The more specific information we receive, the easier it will be to find the car you need. Signing the contract and prepayment
We sign a contract for the import of a pre-selected vehicle and make a deposit to our account in the amount of at least 10% of the lot value and our commission. The deposit is a form of security for the intermediary in case the buyer refuses to purchase the car after winning the auction. The auction house charges a fine if the participant refuses. The financial penalty in case of non-payment for the car may be greater than the deposit paid. However, it is worth emphasizing that we are also dependent on unpredictable factors. VAT tax
Depending on the port of destination, the tax can range from 19 to 23%. If you import a car to Germany, you will pay 19% VAT, 21% when your car reaches a Dutch port, and 23% if you want to import the car directly to Poland. Therefore, the ports of Germany are most often chosen. It is cheapest to buy a retro or collector car, as they are taxed at 7 to 9% depending on the country.

Excise
The excise tax on a car from the USA depends on the engine capacity of the imported car and is 3.1% for cars with an engine capacity of up to 2.0 liters and 18.6% for cars with an engine capacity of more than 2.0 liters. Lower excise rates apply to hybrid vehicles, and for electric vehicles the excise rate is 0% depending on the type of drive. In the case of rare and collectible vehicles, you are exempt from paying excise tax.

Payment for the auction
Auction sites that offer cars for sale charge what is called an auction commission. The amount is determined based on the value of the car sold at auction, but it can be estimated that the commission ranges from a few hundred dollars.

Prepayment
This is the financial security of the transaction. The deposit is at least 10% of the cost of the car. In case of non-payment for the purchased car or other vehicle, the auction house charges our company a fine of 10-15% of the auction amount. In case of losing the auction and no purchase, the deposit is fully returned to the client's account within 2 business days.

Adaptation of cars to European standards
Importing a car from the USA also involves adapting it to European regulations. American cars differ from European ones. Most often, these differences concern the headlights, taillights, and odometer. The meter will count miles, not kilometers. However, this is not a problem, because in the latest car models it is enough to reprogram it, and in other American cars the odometer usually has two scales and does not need to be modernized. In turn, differences in the structure of the lamps make it impossible to drive the vehicle, so first of all you should:
change the dipped beam headlights - according to our rules they should illuminate the roadside, in American cars they are symmetrical and do not illuminate the roadside sufficiently
change the rear turn signals - on most American cars they are red, but should be orange or automotive yellow
equip the car with a rear fog light - cars from the USA do not have one
modify the engine or exhaust system - during a technical inspection at a diagnostic station, it may turn out that the diagnostician will find that the exhaust gas measurement results do not comply with the standards in force in Europe, in which case it will be necessary to modify the engine or exhaust system.
Additional changes worth making include:
replace the tires - if the tires installed in an American car do not have European approval, it is better to replace them, as in the event of an accident the insurance company may refuse to pay compensation
radio conversion - radio stations in the USA broadcast on odd waves, so if you want to listen to your favorite radio stations in Poland, you need to convert the radio, you can also download the Polish menu, and in the case of older receivers, they will need to be replaced.
